Nestled in the heart of Redcross, Co. Wicklow, Latin Quarter is a vibrant blend of art, craft, and coffee, created with passion by Sandra Fernandes and Clive Williams, in the summer of 2017. Our shop is a haven for those who appreciate the beauty of homemade crafts, rustic décor, and the rich aromas of coffee and tea. We take pride in offering a selection of artisan foods, with a special emphasis on unique handmade crafts. Latin Quarter was crafted from reclaimed or recycled materials. At Latin Quarter, we celebrate both local artists and global communities, creating a space where diverse cultures converge.
A Long Journey
Our Unique History
Originally a pub known as Mick Cullens, the building now housing Latin Quarter has a rich history dating back to the early Victorian period. Sandra, together with her partner Clive, a skilled construction professional, has breathed new life into this historic coach house. Their combined expertise in architecture, interior design, and eco-landscaping has transformed it into a cherished community space.
In 2018, we proudly opened the Latin Quarter Gallery with an exhibition by renowned Russian artist Natalya Nikolskaya. Our gallery continues to feature works from artists like Claudia Roche and local talents from Ballyrogan House.
Discover Bossa Nova Café
In the summer of 2019, we introduced Bossa Nova Café to the Latin Quarter, infusing the flavours of Brazilian coffee and cuisine into our offerings. Our café is a haven for food lovers, serving artisan and homemade delicacies, alongside high-quality teas and coffees.
Meet Sandra Fernandes
From a young age, Sandra has been inspired by design, architecture, and the art of crafting. Her creative journey began by watching and helping her mother with crafts, especially during family celebrations. Influenced by her parents—her mother’s passion for creating and her father’s enthusiasm for business—Sandra found her path. Through her travels across Brazil and the globe. Sandra’s eclectic style and love for environmentally friendly products are woven into every aspect of Latin Quarter, offering unique items that support local cottage industries.
Sandra’s background in architecture, interior design, and eco-landscaping, coupled with Clive’s expertise in construction, forms a dynamic partnership that brings life to our vibrant shop.
